cardiCast episode 68 – Mirrabooka Innovations Lab

Perth newCardigan cardiParty

Recorded Live

Our November cardiParty was at the Mirrabooka Innovations Lab. Shana Coyle, Librarian, and Anne Boyland, Branch Librarian, talk about some of the innovative STEAM programs developed by Librarians for the Lab since its launch in 2018.

This was a special cardiParty as it was our last for the year and also our two year anniversary for newCardigan Perth! Thank you to all our Perthlings for coming along and we hope to see you in the new year.

cardiCast Episode 56 – Incinerator Gallery & ENVi Panel

Melbourne newCardigan cardiParty

Recorded Live

This cardiCast is a double header- we just cannot stop trying to cram in as much information as possible!
In the first instance we are treated to a tour of the Incinerator Gallery and the historical importance of the building for the local community, as well as it’s architectural significance, lead by Gallery Team Leader Richard Ennis. Then we join a robust panel discussion about education and learning in GLAM institutions, which consists of ENVi members Christine Healey, Sacha Fawkes and Andrew Hiskens, as well as our own cardiCore member Nic McGrath.

cardiCast Episode 41 – Dr. Jane Garner

Melbourne newCardigan Interview 2018

Recorded In Studio

Dr. Jane Garner discusses her recent PhD research into Australian prisoners’ lived experiences of their libraries and the role that these services play in their lives. Jane conducted her research through interviews with both correctional facility staff and prisoners, across three states and territories and explores the experience of Australian prisoners who make use of their prison library. It is a truly fascinating look into a community that is in such great need of these services.
